My career in process engineering has been a journey through the heart of manufacturing, a path that's taken me from the intricacies of dairy processing to the complex challenges of chemical plants, and through the dynamic environments of fresh produce handling and consumer packaging. This diverse experience has been the cornerstone of Zenith Process Design. It began with an immersive dive into the dairy industry, where I honed my skills in process design and optimization, focusing on everything from milk reception to final product packaging. I learned the critical importance of hygiene, efficiency, and product quality in this demanding sector. This experience gave me a strong foundation in process flow, automation and project management. From there, I expanded into the chemical industry, tackling the design and implementation of processes for a variety of applications. Here, safety and precision were paramount. I gained invaluable experience in handling hazardous materials, designing robust safety systems, and ensuring regulatory compliance, all while striving for optimal efficiency. I was able to help a company improve safety and help with compliance and regulation issues. The need for gentle handling and efficient processing drew me to the fresh produce industry. I developed solutions for post-harvest handling, cooling, and storage, always focused on minimizing waste and preserving the freshness and quality of the produce. My passion for creating efficient systems naturally led me to packaging, both in the context of specific industries and in broader consumer packaging applications. I honed my skills in designing and optimizing packaging lines, mastering the intricacies of filling, capping, labeling, case packing, and palletizing. I was able to increase throughput on a packaging line by 20%. Throughout these experiences, I developed a deep understanding of wastewater treatment principles, recognizing its crucial role in responsible manufacturing. I designed and implemented wastewater treatment systems for various industrial effluents, ensuring compliance and minimizing environmental impact. Beyond individual projects, I had the opportunity to contribute to plant design and build initiatives, overseeing projects from conception to completion. I also became a go-to resource for plant turnarounds, leading teams to efficiently revitalize aging facilities and implement process improvements. In each of these roles, troubleshooting became second nature, a skill honed through countless hours of identifying and resolving process challenges. These diverse experiences, coupled with my passion for problem-solving and a drive to create innovative solutions, ultimately led me to establish Zenith Process Design. At Zenith, we bring this wealth of experience to every project, providing our clients with the expertise they need to achieve their manufacturing goals. My career has come full circle, from hands on experience to now owning my own business and still getting to work hands on with our clients.
